STATE FAIR?
Every summer for 12 days in the state of Minnesota, USA, a large festival takes place with music, entertainment, carnival rides, competitions and most importantly, food.
1] Visitors from all over the country come to the Minnesota State Fair to try some of its local and unusual dishes. It’s a chance to taste lamb chips, chocolate covered meat and mini donuts, to mention a few. It’s not only the food itself that is unusual but how the fair serves it. 2
There is alligator on a stick, fried cookies on a stick and even spaghetti on a stick!
Food competitions are also a big highlight at the fair. In celebration of Minnesota’s dairy industry, there is the popular butter carving competition where participants make incredible sculptures out of butter. 3 Participants make their best recipes in hope of winning a blue ribbon for first prize. Of course, once the judges have awarded the ribbons, visitors can taste some of the best baking in Minnesota,
