Bashkortostan is a republic lying at the junction of Europe and Asia. The land where mountains, forests and steppes meet. In their poems, poets describe Bashkiria as a palm open for greeting to all the peoples of the country. Bashkortostan can also be compared with a birch leaf on the outline of its borders. This land can be imagined as the heart of Russia, which is beating peacefully, braided by highways, pipelines and roads.
Bashkortostan is a land that nature has generously awarded with natural gifts: vast pastures for horses, cows, rams and goats; impassable dense forests overflowing with a large variety of animals and birds; the steppes, like the sea, excited by a feather grass; healing springs, quiet lakes and beautiful rivers. Especially loved by the Bashkirs is the Agidel River. It is called so for the whitish-silver color of the water. But lakes are an integral part of the natural environment. Rivers and lakes are not all the wealth of Bashkiria. How wonderful is Bashkir bee honey! It is well preserved and does not deteriorate for hundreds of years. In many areas there are large apiaries, numbering up to several hundred hives.
